Job DescriptionAbout the Role
The Friends' School is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Policy and Risk Coordinator to join our Business Office team.
In this key role, you will support the effective management of policies, guidelines, and compliance documentation across the School, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with legislative and operational requirements.
Reporting to the Risk & Compliance Manager, you will also assist in implementing workplace health and safety, child safeguarding, and risk management strategies across all areas of the School, including Friends' Early Years, Friends Health & Fitness, and the Argyle Motor Lodge.
This is a permanent part-time (60% FTE) opportunity with flexible working days.
Key Focus Areas- Manage the review, approval, and publication of Friends' Controlled Documents, ensuring accuracy and version control.
- Support the Board's Policy & Guidelines Committee by preparing and circulating meeting papers and tracking action items.
- Review policy content and formatting for consistency and alignment with Friends' document standards.
- Assist in managing compliance training modules, incident reports, and workplace health and safety reviews.
- Provide administrative and operational support in relation to workers' compensation, return-to-work plans, and compliance monitoring.
- Collaborate with staff across departments to promote a culture of safety, risk awareness, and continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements- Qualifications in Corporate Governance, Risk and Compliance, or Work Health and Safety, or significant experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining policy or compliance frameworks.
- Strong written communication and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- High level of interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proven ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent computer literacy, including experience with document and risk management systems.
- Understanding of the 10 National Child Safe Standards and commitment to a child-safe environment.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (employment) registration and a National Police Check (less than 6 months old).
