Period of employment / Hours:

Fixed term full-time day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) commencing ASAP for a period of12 months.

Duties:

Primary Purpose / Focus :

This is a senior officer role within the Housing Policy and Programs branch, requiring extensive experience in strategic coordination, stakeholder engagement, and operational policy in complex service delivery environments. The position primarily supports Homes Tasmania's responsibilities for ensuring suitable housing arrangements for children and young people with disability in voluntary out-of-home care, consistent with state and national frameworks.

The Senior Housing Support Coordinator, as part of the Specialist Accommodation Unit, will coordinate housing responses, support risk management, and work collaboratively with providers, families, and government partners. The role also contributes to housing outcomes for other vulnerable cohorts with exceptional or urgent needs, preparing evidence-based advice to senior management and the Homes Tasmania Board.

Skills and experience :

Selection criteria includes:

  • Highly developed capability in leading and coordinating complex housing responses for vulnerable cohorts with exceptional needs, with the capacity to apply operational policy consistent with state and national frameworks. This includes a primary focus on children and young people with disability in voluntary out-of-home care.
  • Highly developed analytical and organisational skills, including the ability to prepare clear documentation, reports, and evidence-based advice, and to provide timely and accurate recommendations to senior management.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust, represent Homes Tasmania effectively, and maintain productive relationships with service providers, families, and government partners.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study from a recognised tertiary institution.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (child related activity) Registration (Employment type)
