The roleWe're looking for a Senior Settlements Officer to keep our trading operations running smoothly and efficiently. You'll oversee day-to-day settlements, guide the team, and lead process improvements that boost accuracy, efficiency, and client experience. You'll be the operational go-to, ensuring best practice, strong oversight, and smooth collaboration with trading, compliance, and client teams.

The role is based in core operational hours, but our settlements coverage extends to midnight. Occasionally, you may need to flex your hours to help cover leave or busy periods — being a team player is key.

What you'll do

  • Oversee settlements for OTC, derivatives, and structured products.
  • Ensure all settlement processes are accurate, timely, and compliant with internal controls.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or high-value settlement issues.
  • Support and mentor settlement analysts to lift capability and embed best practice.
  • Reconcile trades, investigate breaks, and resolve discrepancies quickly.
  • Liaise with counterparties, clients, and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintain and enhance SOPs, SLAs, and risk controls across the settlement function.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and reporting enhancements.
  • Analyse and manage data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide advice on operational policies, business methods, and workflow optimisation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and knowledge libraries to support consistent, scalable operations.

What you bring

  • 3+ years in settlements, trading ops, middle office, or treasury (financial, FX, or crypto).
  • Solid knowledge of settlement processes, reconciliations, and risk controls.
  • Experience in crypto markets, blockchain settlements, or wallet management (advantage).
  • Proven process improvement skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
