Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Settlements Officer located in the Sydney CBD. The Senior Settlements Officer will manage and oversee settlement processes, ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, and collaborate with various stakeholders. Daily tasks include conducting detailed analysis, maintaining strong customer service, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end settlement process
  • Coordinate with solicitors and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate settlements.
  • Review and validate loan documentation for compliance and completeness.
  • Validate insurance, contracts, approvals, and progress evidence for construction loans.
  • Maintain accurate records and update internal systems post-settlement.
  • Resolve settlement-related queries and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Collaborate with credit, loan processing, and customer service teams to ensure a smooth client journey.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to system enhancements.

Skills & Experience

  • 3–4 years of experience in mortgage and construction settlements, including rapid refinance within a banking or financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of lending products, settlement procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive transactions with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking or equivalent (desirable).
  • Experience with both residential and commercial lending products.
