About the role
The Enterprise Portfolio Assurance (EPA) Lead role has responsibility for providing services to the delivery projects and programs across the organisation that support them in succeeding. The Enterprise Portfolio Assurance Lead will lead the EPA function. The EPA Lead will adopt a proactive and strategic mind-set in providing the drive, leadership, advice and insight in the definition and uplift of services to support program methods, program governance and program assurance across the organisation.
The EPO's responsibilities range from investment planning, prioritisation and governance; managing the enterprise change process for business change adoption across the enterprise; supporting portfolio delivery with methods and assurance services; and providing insights and recommendation based on the performance health of the portfolio to inform strategic decisions by the Executive Leadership Team and Board on AEMO's three-to-five year investment portfolio.
What you will be doing
- Govern and manage the Enterprise Portfolio Services Framework and Methods, continually assessing and adapting to the needs of the business and reflecting approved changes in EPO artefacts and processes.
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Leadership Team, Investment Management Lead, Portfolio Insights Team, and Portfolio Delivery to communicate, educate and embed common methods and approaches across Divisional Portfolios and Programs.
- Manage the process to ensure that outputs from the Reviews are captured, assessed, prioritised and actioned to continuously improve AEMO Program/Project execution.
- Manage the process to assess the need ahead of Investment Approval and the process of conducting Assurance Reviews in collaboration with the Program/Project.
- Work in conjunction with Risk and Internal Audit respectively, establish best practice approach and processes for risk management and compliance.
- Provide Program/Project start-up services to newly established teams. This includes insights and advice to enable the team to establish itself for success through the rapid adoption of AEMO Methods, Processes, Quick Reference Guides and Start-Up Checklists. - Deliver enterprise portfolio reporting during Project Delivery (Planning & Execution phase), including, yet not limited to, Major Program Management reporting and Major Project KPI reporting
What you will bring to the role
- Extensive experience working across large scale transformation and change, as well as small scale delivery and change.
- Significant experience of leading teams in successful delivery projects or programs.
- Significant experience of following project, program and DevOps methodologies: Prince2, Waterfall, Agile, and business change methodologies, PROSCI, PMI/PMBOK and SAFe.
- Experience in uplifting organisational delivery capability.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with ability to influence at leadership level but also work tactically with key stakeholders across investment portfolio.
Education/ Certificates
- Bachelor or Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
- Project Management accreditation / certification, or substantial equivalent experience of specialist professional development in project management.
