Our HQ is based in Rotterdam, Netherlands with our Australian region, boasting a fleet of over 30 vessels across multiple ports along the East Coast with a significant presence in PNG.  We pride ourselves on our safety culture, work ethic and commitment to the environment.
Our Brisbane Operation is seeking a skilled and experienced Purchaser to join our team for a 12 Month Maternity cover on a full time basis.
Job Description
  • Purchase good and services against lowest cost possible with technical and safety specifications and local legislation.
  • Invite suppliers to quote and draft Requests for Quotations
  • Register and  process complete approved purchase requisitions upon receipt
  • Compose purchase orders (PO)
  • Prepare comparison of quotes and submit same to respective internal clients for approval
  • Advise suppliers abroad with remittance details received from accounts payable
  • Monitor delivery time, follow up with supplier, freight forwarders, agents and end receivers.
  • Provide purchase status reports to internal clients
  • Monitor the performance of (preferred) suppliers and provide reports
  • Conduct any other assignment related to the job as assigned by the Procurement Manager
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, inventory data, and supplier documentation.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry
  • Strong ERP/MRP knowledge
  • Excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field is highly desirable
