Our client is a state of the art grape processing, winemaking and storage facility, specialising in bulk wine supply strategically located less than one hour from some of South Australia's best known wine regions.

Duties for Cellar hand may include, but are not limited to:

  • Proven previous cellar hand skills (eg hook a pump, run a press, experienced in vintage additions, yeast, transfers and cleaning tanks)
  • Following bottling specifications with good eye to detail
  • Set up machinery for operation
  • Start machinery and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance.
  • Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance.
  • Perform quality control, follow reporting and record keeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor.
  • Comply with all safety and health regulations.
  • Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area

To be successful in this role, you must have the following skills and capabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience of Cellar hand Grade 2 or above, as per award/job description
  • Experience working in a fast paced winery environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions effectively and coordinate all activities with supervisor
  • Ability to work in a team, but also own your own
  • Adherence to occupational health and safety requirements
  • Be motivated with a good work ethic and a keen interest to learn
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
