As a seasoned wine professional, we are seeking a dedicated Winemaker to spearhead our boutique style premium wines. With a rich history spanning over 100 years, our winery has received numerous national and international accolades for its exceptional craftsmanship.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing the production of d'Arenberg products from grape receival through to bottling with a focus on managing our highly acclaimed white wine program.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing performance and development of cellar staff
  • Quality assessment of wines including blending responsibilities as part of the winemaking team
  • Closely communicating and co-ordinating with other departments
  • Proactive involvement with our WHS, QA, HACCP, Organics and Sustainability systems
  • Developing relationships and liaising with our key winery suppliers and service providers

Requirements:

  • A tertiary degree in Winemaking or Oenology
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar winemaking role
  • A practical understanding of small batch wine making (on a large scale)
  • Practical Laboratory skills
  • Effective communication and leadership expertise
  • The ability to work hands on in all areas of the winery
  • Knowledge of Ezywine and Vinwizard programs is desirable
