Principal Applications Developer

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and innovative Principal Applications Developer to join our small and dynamic support team. Working within Queensland Shared Services you will enjoy a rewarding role leading the maintenance, design and implementation of solutions.
You will drive technical strategy, mentor a team of developers and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions with a focus on the ServiceNow platform, ensuring the delivery of high quality solutions that meet business objectives. The role will work in all aspects of the application development lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead solution design, system documentation and technical specifications, ensuring that development, unit testing and maintenance meets QSS strategic direction.
- Ensure solutions are developed, maintained and improved in accordance with best practice frameworks, including relevant security standards and methodologies.
- Identifying areas of opportunity to reduce technical debt and support the improvement of new and existing applications and solutions.
- Identify capability needs and evaluate team performance, mentoring and providing technical leadership in the delivery of end-to-end platform maintenance, fixes and enhancements.
- Ensure adherence to organisational governance and team processes and procedures across the software development lifecycle.
- Liaise and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure accurate estimation and appropriate resourcing for the development and implementation of agreed scope.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience designing, governing and developing innovative and secure solutions for stakeholders leveraging out of the box functionality in the ServiceNow platform.
- Adept at creating and maintaining clear, comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring well-documented solutions.
- Proven experience with current and emerging programming languages including java-script, Angular js, XML, Jelly, HTML, SQL, CSS and/or integration technologies such as API and Web Services.
- Experience leading a diverse team; uplifting capability, mentoring and managing multiple priorities, following methodologies and frameworks such as Agile and ITIL.
- Your ability to influence using your extensive written and verbal communication skills, including developing and designing presentations, documents, policies and procedures.
- Your ability to build and sustain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders, readily sharing your knowledge and experience with others, displaying superior relationship management, communication and negotiation skills
Highly Desirable
- Experience with integration technologies such as API and Web Services.
- Knowledge of Information Security principles.
Role Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience developing and designing ServiceNow solutions in a senior capacity.
- Previous experience leading a team in an agile environment.
- ITIL4 foundation certification or equivalent.
