About the Role
As a
Policy Manager
you will lead the development and delivery of legislative and non-legislative policy reform projects that shape the future of workplace safety in NSW. You'll work closely with the SafeWork NSW Executive and a variety of stakeholders to respond to emerging harms and design regulatory frameworks at both state and national levels.
Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
- Leading research and review of complex policy and legislative reform issues
- Providing expert advice across government, including interjurisdictional collaboration under model WHS laws
- Coordinating stakeholder consultation and negotiation on reform initiatives
- Overseeing the preparation of reports, briefs and correspondence for senior leadership and government
- Managing people and resources to deliver high-impact policy outcomes
- Staying ahead of industry trends, regulatory obligations and emerging risks
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in legislative reform, including drafting and consultation processes
- An understanding of intergovernmental arrangements and model/uniform legislative frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to operationalise policy in regulatory or government settings
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage a variety of competing priorities and deliver under pressure
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience
- Commitment to public sector values and ethical leadership
