This newly created role will drive the development of Listings policy and provide secretariat support to the newly established ASX Advisory Group on Corporate Governance (AGCG), ensuring the group operates efficiently and effectively as a consultative body. This role is central to supporting ASX's responsibilities as issuer of the ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations (Principles) and to developing corporate governance standards for ASX-listed entities.

Your Team

The Senior Policy Manager, Listings role is part of the Listings Policy team within the Listings business.

The Listings business is responsible for attracting and retaining listed equity, debt and investment products, including developing and executing the overarching strategy for the ASX listings business.  

Your responsibilities

ASX Advisory Group on Corporate Governance (AGCG) Secretariat:

As part of the Listings Policy team, provide secretariat support to the AGCG and support ASX's responsibilities and objectives as issuer of the Principles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work as part of a team (including members from Listings Compliance, Legal and Regulatory Policy teams) to develop corporate governance standards for ASX-listed entities, including drafting recommendations, consultation papers and amendments to the Principles.
  • Draft and collate briefing papers and updates on recent developments in corporate governance, both in Australia and globally, for AGCG consideration.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement activities, including managing public consultation processes and the collation and review of feedback from listed entities, investors, regulators, and industry bodies.
  • In conjunction with administrative support, schedule, coordinate, and minute AGCG meetings, ensuring timely distribution of agendas, papers, and minutes.
  • Prepare reports and updates for ASX management and the Board.

ASX Listings Policy Development:

In addition, the role will be responsible for executing non-corporate governance policy development initiatives for the ASX Listings business, helping shape a competitive, efficient and trusted Australian public market

Key responsibilities include:

  • In conjunction with members from Listings Compliance, Legal and Regulatory Policy teams, Support the development and lead the execution of ASX's policy agenda as it relates to the Listings business, ensuring the ASX Listing Rules and broader capital market regulatory settings remain fit-for-purpose.
  • Undertake research and analysis in relation to current issues, including researching the rules of other exchanges, industry best practice and legal requirements, and develop evidence-based options and recommended solutions.
  • Analyse policy settings and investor expectations to ensure ASX remains competitive with global and private capital markets.
  • Lead engagement with listed companies, investors, industry bodies, government and regulators to gather feedback and drive policy development.
  • Drafting submissions, policy papers, briefing notes, and consultation responses.
  • Preparation of discussion, board and strategic offsite papers.
  • Coordinate stakeholder consultation processes on market structure or regulatory proposals.

Must have

  • Demonstrated experience in secretariat or governance support roles, ideally within an ASX 300 listed company, regulatory, or legal environment.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting board or committee papers, minutes, and consultation documents.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and gravitas in external engagements, including the ability to interact autonomously with senior stakeholders and the AGCG Chair.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance frameworks, ASX Listing Rules, and the Australian regulatory landscape.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, business, public policy, or a related field are desirable.
