About Us

Greatland is a leading new Australian Gold-Copper producer, having recently acquired the iconic Telfer mine and the world-class Havieron gold-copper project in the Paterson region in Western Australia. Greatland is listed on the London Stock Exchange's AIM market and is planning to list on the ASX in 2025.

As we continue to grow our business and team, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Geologist to join our team on a Fulltime basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in our journey to becoming a leading ASX gold-copper producer and contribute to our future success.

About Telfer Operations

Telfer is a gold-copper mine located in the Paterson Province of the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. It includes both open-pit and underground mining operations, as well as the operation of Australia's third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since beginning gold production in 1975, Telfer has produced more than 15Moz of gold to date.

Our Telfer operations offer a fly-in fly-out work arrangement, providing our workforce with a healthy work-life balance. Onsite, we offer a broad range of recreational activities, including a recently refurbished gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and both dry and wet mess facilities.

In addition to Telfer, Greatland owns 100% of the Havieron gold-copper, a world class development project with a multi-decade mine life, located 45km west of Telfer that will utilise the existing Telfer infrastructure to process Havieron ore, together with a significant exploration portfolio in the region surrounding Telfer.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Open Pit Mine Geologist to join our team at Telfer. In this critical role, you will support the planning and operational aspects of open-pit mining operations. You will apply advanced geological expertise to ensure the efficient extraction of mineral resources, while prioritising safety, environmental compliance, and effective resource management.

Please note: This role is FIFO from Perth, 8 days on, 6 days off

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and update geological models, perform resource estimation, and integrate data into mine planning software for pit optimization.
• Oversee grade control processes, assess ore and waste boundaries, and coordinate with mining teams to minimise dilution and improve ore recovery.
• Reconcile geological data, perform quality checks, and prepare clear reports to ensure consistency across models and datasets.
• Provide geological input to short- and long-term mine planning, working closely with the engineering team to optimise pit layouts.
• Analyse geological and geophysical data, recommend changes to models, and interpret field observations.
• Lead and mentor a team of geologists, promote a collaborative culture, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with mine operations, safety, engineering, and environmental teams to resolve geological challenges.
• Prepare technical reports, maintain accurate geological records, and participate in audits and feasibility studies.

About You

We are searching for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment, is proactive in driving continuous improvement, and brings a strong commitment to both operational excellence and professional development.

• 5-10 years of experience in open-pit mining geology, with significant hands-on experience in grade control, resource estimation, and mine planning.
• Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
• Proficiency in geological modelling software (e.g., Vulcan, Datamine, Leapfrog).
• Strong knowledge of geological mapping, systems and processes
• Proven experience with RC Grade control management and design.
• Familiarity with mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
