Project Manager – Systems
Our client is a trusted Federal Government supplier delivering sovereign solutions that strengthen Australia's Defence capability. Within their team of high-performing professionals, they are seeking a Systems Project Manager. The role sits within Land Range Safety Management tool (LSRMT) and reports to the Program Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing lifecycle activities including Engineering change proposals, security certification/ accreditation and configuration management.
- Oversee procurement, financial and contractual activities such as development, review and management of features, enhancements, proposals, bug fixes and delivery. Associated budgets, schedules, invoices and other artefacts.
- Collaborate with interface Defence stakeholders, external vendors and technical support teams.
- Provide expert advice to executives and stakeholders that contribute to strategic decision making.
- Develop and maintain Product Management plan and product schedule documentation.
- Track performance against Key performance indicators (KPI).
- Delivery status reports - monthly and performance updated to product director and leadership team.
Some of the preferred skills and experiences our ideal candidate will possess:
- 7-10 years experience in Defence project management with demonstrated understanding of Military and operational environment as well as capability integration requirements.
- Tertiary qualifications in project management, ICT or Engineering.
Duties and experiences that will benefit the candidate in standing out for the role:
- Providing specialist advice to requirements definition and then planning, monitoring and controlling of programs/products across the life cycle of a capability.
- Solving complex problems and manage issues to support the delivery of capability, including understanding of the technical, operational and logistical requirements.
- Evaluating and ensuring that the capability sustainment meets requirements, and is inline with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Analysing, developing and implementing work plans to support delivery of outcomes, understand critical success factors and recommend changes.
- Reviewing project documentation and processes against Commonwealth ProcurementRules, Defence Procurement Manual and relevant policies.
- Knowledge commensurate with the skill level required of relevant Australian andInternational Standards, regulations, and Defence requirements.
- Experience in the Land C4 environment and delivery of integrated solutions to Landplatforms.
- Understanding of the content of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)and its application in the Defence project management environment.
- Experience or qualifications in Agile project management.
- Experience working in an engineering environment.
- Understanding of ODCS and FIC.
- Experience working with Defence Prime contractors on deliverables based contracts
Location: Melbourne
Duration: 12 months (Initial)
Clearance: AGSVA NV1 (already existing or ability to obtain NV1)
