To do that, it requires a deep and broad understanding of the associated technology, landscape and specific solutions. Communication will cover a range of media across written, digital, and face-to-face briefings.

Most tasks are centred around gaining and then then providing context on the latest developments in key areas across the company and surrounding industry.

  • Compose clear and compelling messaging that translates in both directions between complex technical features and customer-facing benefits, differentiators, and value propositions.
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders across business and technical domains on the status and key updates of critical engineering projects.
  • Assist in the collaborations between engineering, creative, and business stakeholders to facilitate accurate technical communication that fills business needs.
  • Create engaging collateral, presentations, and training materials to help sales teams effectively communicate technical solutions.
  • Write, proof and edit pieces such as press releases, whitepapers, case studies, briefings, as well as more technical documents such as datasheets, micro-learning modules, and technical info packs.
  • Partner with tech writers and graphic designers to develop website content, videos, and webinars.
  • Understand the positioning and messaging for a wide range of products and projects to different audiences.
  • Develop a strongly technical understanding of specialty products and technologies to ensure that communications are informative and accessible.
  • View and present this information in the context of company-wide strategy, and a rapidly shifting industrial landscape.
  • Support product, and marketing teams to execute their customer-facing communications.
  • Research and synthesise technical data from a range of internal & external sources to present in actionable summaries. Investigate deeper into a topic, collaborating with technical experts to truly understand a problem space before briefing stakeholders.

Qualifications, Experience And Skills

  • Learning mindset and generalist attitude - broad baseline competence and an inquisitive approach to the factors surrounding the problem at hand.
  • Strongly technical background - a bachelors degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in digital, written, and face-to-face communication supported by a broad range of soft skills.
  • Experience in Science Communication, Knowledge Management, Technical Communication, or similar fields involving simple communication of dense subject matter.
  • Initiative and strong ownership over your work, able to collaborate in a cross-functional team or carry a task solo to completion.
  • Comfortable using design software (such as Adobe Suite or equivalent) to create professional customer-facing material within company guidelines.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian ecosystem (JIRA, Confluence), and Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Office, Teams etc.) for knowledge management and transfer.
