Role Description

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable Officer to support our finance operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid accounting foundation who's ready to grow within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

  • Manage the accounts inbox, ensuring all supplier invoices and finance-related communications are actioned promptly
  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely approval by relevant Project Managers
  • Prepare and manage weekly payment runs
  • Manage supplier relationships, including: setting up and maintaining vendor records, validating ABN, bank, and documentation details.
  • Coordinating trade account applications
  • Responding to supplier queries
  • Process employee expense claims accurately and efficiently

Accounts Receivable

  • Prepare and issue client invoices
  • Follow up on overdue accounts and maintain accurate receivable records

Bookkeeping

  • Perform daily/monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
  • Ensure financial data accuracy and completeness in Xero
  • Liaise with the external tax agent and assist with GST/BAS queries

Ad Hoc Tasks

  • Provide support on various finance projects and other accounting-related deliverables as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance support role
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • High level of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines
  • Education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
