Position Information

Blayney Public School, with an enrolment of 250 students, including 19% Aboriginal students, is located in the Central West of NSW. The school has nine mainstream classes and three support classes.

Blayney Public School has a highly motivated teaching staff, with a mixture of experienced and early career teachers, and a supportive parent community who are committed to providing inclusive, safe and quality teaching and learning. The school maximises learning outcomes for students through the implementation of quality differentiated literacy and numeracy programs. It has high expectations and fosters leadership skills in students and staff. Innovative teaching and learning strategies, evidence-based practices, collaboration and supportive wellbeing programs, are a priority of the school.

Blayney Public School offers extensive sporting and creative and performing arts opportunities catering for students' diverse needs, and social and emotional wellbeing.

Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach special education and/or experience, skills and knowledge to teach students with complex needs, including autism, intellectual and physical disabilities, emotional disturbance, and trauma.
  • Skilled in implementing flexible classroom management and wellbeing programs to promote positive learning environments and inclusive practices (K-6).
  • Proven ability to maximise learning outcomes for all students through quality teaching, engagement, high expectations, differentiated program development and assessment, and implementation of individualised learning plans.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to foster a culture of inclusivity through proactive collaboration with students and families from diverse backgrounds, colleagues, and external agencies.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
