Role purposeWe are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Maintenance Officer to join our centre operations team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the seamless functioning of the centre by maintaining facilities, supporting day-to-day operations, and keeping the property safe, clean, and well-presented for retailers, contractors, staff, and customers.
As the Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the general upkeep of the property, including routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks. You will also oversee groundskeeping activities such as landscaping, garden upkeep, waste management, and the overall presentation of outdoor spaces.
Your proactive approach to maintenance and safety will help deliver an exceptional experience across the centre for all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the presentation of facilities including staff amenities, loading docks, centre malls, and public spaces.
- Carry out repairs and servicing of internal and external structures, lighting, signage, carparks, and gates.
- Support compliance with safety procedures and emergency management, including use of emergency equipment.
- Administer the computerised maintenance management system, raising and closing jobs as required.
- Assist with contractor management, inspections, and minor capital expenditure projects.
- Oversee groundskeeping activities such as landscaping, lawns, gardens, and external waste management.
- Provide timely and effective support to ensure smooth daily operations and a safe environment.
Experience & Capabilities
Experience & Knowledge:
- Trade or building services experience, with exposure to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Proven experience in groundskeeping and property presentation.
- Knowledge of contractor management, maintenance programs, and safety regulations.
- Ability to manage both planned and ad-hoc maintenance within budget and timelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and confidence in emergency situations.

- Customer-focused approach with strong stakeholder communication skills.
- Effective planning, prioritisation, and time management.
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment and work with external contractors.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation.
