The Maintenance worker typically frequently walks and stands to complete various cleaning and small repair tasks at the warehouse including:

- Repeated stooping and forward reach to clean toilet cubicles.
- Manual sweeping and mopping to clean up spills. This requires repeated arm actions as well as squatting and kneeling to hand scrub floor areas if required.
- Driving ride on scrubber and sweeper for periods up to two hours at a time.
- Manually lifting garbage bins to empty refuse. Lifting of bins and compacted waste may be up to 25kg.
- Push and pull trolley to collect cardboard and other waste for baling or compacting.
- Small painting tasks that require forward and overhead reach and may require some ladder climbing
- Vacuuming of carpeted areas
- Walking in the car park and outdoor areas with frequent squatting and/ or forward reach with stick type collection apparatus to pick up rubbish.
- Occasional stair climbing is required when completing tasks involving fire stairs.
- Occasional crawling under racking or other objects may be required to remove rubbish or clean.

The Maintenance staff are also required to assist with store presentation tasks such as facing up shelf items, emptying bins, folding clothing etc. These tasks require frequent arm actions including overhead reach as well as occasional squatting and stooping. Occasionally dynamic arm actions to use hand tools such as hammers or spanners is required. Occasionally the Maintenance worker will assist stockers pushing and pulling the pallet jack to move loads.

**Daily tasks and responsibilities**:

- Cleans warehouse floors, offices, break room, and restrooms by operating self-propelled floor scrubbing machinery, and by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping. Follows departmental procedures and standards for cleanliness and performance of duties. Restocks supplies.
- Empties garbage from designated areas throughout the warehouse. Pulls merchandise slip sheets and loose cardboard from the sales floor. Operates garbage compactor and cardboard baler.
- Follows safety and security procedures, such as tagging and locking off power access when working on electrical equipment, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler, product disposal. Responds quickly to clean up spills.
- Provides prompt and courteous member service.
- All gardening requirements, such as spraying and weeding.

**Non-Essential Functions and Tasks**:

- Assists with front end duties as necessary.
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
- Must be available to work early shifts and/or** late evenings.**:

- Must be available to work a rotating schedule which also includes **weekend work (Compulsory)**.
- Must have full availability 7 days a week.
- This is a part time position with a minimum of **24 hours per week**.

Must be able to work up to **50 hours **a fortnight.
