Finance Manager

Location: Laverton North, Melbourne VIC

Salary: Up to $110,000 – $125,000 per year

About the Role

Wharton Corp is seeking a Finance Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will oversee financial operations and reporting across the Group.

This role is office-based due to the fast-paced nature of the business. Own transport is required, as public transport access is limited. You will act as the Finance Controller's 2IC and support a small, hands-on finance team.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA/CA preferred but not required)
  • 7+ years in a senior finance role, preferably across multiple entities
  • Strong knowledge of Xero, tax legislation, and compliance requirements
  • Advanced ERP and Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables)
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations across all group entities
  • Prepare, review, and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure timely completion of statutory accounts, tax returns, and compliance obligations
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity across the Group
  • Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Lead annual budgets for each entity and consolidate at the group level
  • Develop rolling forecasts and scenario planning to support growth
  • Provide variance analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance
  • Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, taxation, and regulations
  • Strengthen internal controls across the Group
  • Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory authorities
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Other tasks as directed by the CFO
