St Mary's Pre-school is a parent-run community kindergarten located in the heart of Bayside. Situated within an old church building, the kindergarten is full of character and charm. With beautiful external grounds and a huge internal space, we provide a wonderful learning space for children. Description

An opportunity exists for an Early Childhood Educator to join our teaching team in Term Assessed as Exceeding the National Quality Standards, we strive to deliver a high-quality educational program. St Mary's Pre-School is a one room kindergarten, with learning shared shared across the 3Yo and 4Yo group over the week. Our teaching staff includes 8 experienced staff, and we are looking for someone who can work closely as part of this team. Working with the 3yo 'Koala' group, you will be working alongside an experienced and Qualified Early Childhood Teacher and another Diploma qualified educator with a maximum of 26 children in the group.

Hours:
  • Tuesday and Thursday 8.00am-5.00pm (9 hours, includes a 30 minute lunch break)
  • You can complete your remaining planning hours onsite at any other point in the week (0.75 hours a week), however Monday is the preferred day
Key responsibilities:
  • Providing children with a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment
  • Collaboration with the educational team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
  • Liaising with the Lead Educator, other educators and the Committee of Management to ensure delivery of a high-quality educational service

Experience in a community Kindergarten is essential.

Qualifications

  • You must have the right to work and live in Australia to apply for this role
  • Approved Diploma Qualification (or be working towards a qualification in accordance with the Regulations). Experienced Certificate III will also be considered.
  • CPR, First Aid, Emergency Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis Management training
  • Current Employee Working With Children Check
  • Mandatory Reporting Certificate / relevant child protection training

The successful candidate will be required to consent to a National Police Check.
