E-commerce Technical Delivery Lead

Location: Sydney

Employment Type: Contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced E-commerce Technical Delivery Lead to oversee end-to-end delivery of complex e-commerce solutions. This role will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors, ensuring successful delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing digital commerce platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of e-commerce projects from planning through to go-live and hypercare.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and prioritize features.

Work closely with technical teams (developers, architects, QA) to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Define and track project plans, risks, dependencies, and budgets.

Act as a solution owner, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards.

Manage vendors/partners delivering e-commerce platforms (e.g., SAP Commerce, Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify Plus).

Ensure quality assurance, regression testing, and smooth release management.

Provide status updates to senior leadership and recommend improvements to delivery processes.

Foster an agile culture, driving adoption of Scrum/Kanban best practices within delivery teams.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

7+ years of experience in IT project/delivery management, with at least 3+ years focused on e-commerce platforms.

Strong understanding of e-commerce technologies (e.g., SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, Shopify).

Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (developers, QA, DevOps, UI/UX).

Familiarity with cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Solid knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks.

Strong stakeholder management and vendor management skills.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Nice to Have
:

Experience with payment gateways, order management systems, and API/Middleware integrations.

Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing, release pipelines).

Knowledge of digital marketing tools (SEO, Analytics, Tag Management).

Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or Agile certifications (CSM, SAFe).
