About the role:

Do you have a passion for sales and event coordination? We're looking for a motivated and results-driven Conference & Events Sales Coordinator to join our dynamic sales team at South Terrace Precinct, encompassing Hotel Alba, The Terrace Hotel, and HotelMOTEL.

In this exciting and fast-paced role, you'll play a pivotal part in securing and coordinating business across all three hotels, with a strong focus on conferences and events. Working closely with the Sales Executive and Director of Sales, you will help drive revenue through event space, accommodation, and food & beverage services.

What we are looking for:

We're seeking a proactive and enthusiastic professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment and enjoys creating exceptional experiences for clients. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A passion for hospitality and delivering memorable client events
  • Previous experience in a similar sals or event coordination role (highly regarded)
  • A drive to exceed targets with a results-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • A professional demeanour and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with iVvy Events, CRM systems, and OPERA (or similar hotel software) is desirable

Key Responsibilities:

As the Conference & Events Sales Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of the sales and events operation, responsible for:

  • Actively quote and secure small – medium sized conference, events business and restaurant bookings for the precinct
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimise revenue across all areas of the business.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate communication and planning for all events.
  • Following up on quotes with a strong focus on conversion and client satisfaction
  • Coordinating and supporting the execution of various events, including corporate functions, workshops, weddings, and social gatherings
  • Preparing and processing detailed event documentation and function orders
  • Conducting post-event follow-ups to ensure client feedback and retention
  • Handling general enquiries via email and phone
  • Maintaining accurate records and managing event diaries
  • Conducting site inspections for potential clients
  • Collaborating with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and revenue growth

About You

  • Motivated and passionate about service excellence

  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Event management experience within a hotel or venue is desired
  • Previous experience with Opera - Property Management System and iVvy Event Management system is preferenced
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to network and develop relationships
