About The Borg Group
The Borg Group is a leading privately-owned Australian enterprise with a strong presence in manufacturing, recycling, and property development. Founded in 1989 by brothers John and Michael Borg, the company is headquartered in Somersby, New South Wales, and employs nearly 2,700 people across Australia and New Zealand.
Borg is committed to environmental responsibility, actively integrating sustainable practices into its operations. Initiatives such as reDirect Recycling and Direct Pallets play a key role in reclaiming materials like used formwork, trusses, plywood, particleboard, and pallets. These efforts not only reduce landfill waste but also contribute to the production of recycled-content particleboard.
Innovation is a cornerstone of Borg's success. The company continually invests in automation and advanced technologies, driving new product development and maintaining its position at the cutting edge of the industry. Its world-class manufacturing facilities are a testament to this forward-thinking approach.
Borg's diverse portfolio includes several prominent brands, notably polytec and Porta.
- polytec is a renowned Australian brand offering decorative surface solutions for both residential and commercial interiors. It is a favourite among designers and renovators across the country for its style and quality.
- Porta is a trusted supplier of premium timber and panel products for the construction industry. Known for its deep expertise and commitment to innovation, Porta delivers strength, quality, and reliability to every project.
About the Role
We're building a small, agile Digital Hub to simplify processes, connect systems, and apply AI where it makes sense. To do that, we're looking for a hands-on Automation & AI Integration Developer who loves turning ideas into practical solutions.
This role is about making things smarter and faster: automating repetitive tasks, connecting systems, and embedding AI where it delivers real business value. You'll be prototyping, experimenting, and delivering solutions that help staff and customers in weeks, not months.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, coding, developing and implementing smart automations.
- Building practical and smart automations with tools like Power Automate, n8n
- Design and implement business process automation or RPA (e.g UiPath).
- Developing and managing APIs and integrations between internal and external systems.
- Working with stakeholders to map workflows and translate ideas into solutions.
- Testing, debugging and documenting what you build so it's reliable and easy to maintain.
- Staying curious – exploring new AI or digital tools that could make a difference.
What we're looking for
- Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, JavaScript or TypeScript).
- Hands-on experience with automation and integration platforms.
- Knowledge of APIs (REST, GraphQL, SOAP) and data flows.
- A problem-solver who can explain technical stuff in plain English.
- 3+ years' experience in automation, integration or development roles.
Bonus points for
- Exposure to AI APIs (OpenAI, Google AI, etc.).
- Light web development (React, , HTML/CSS).
- Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Interest in LLMs, agents, or vector databases.
Why join us?
You'll be part of a small, innovative team where your work has real impact. No red tape, no waiting around – just the chance to deliver smart solutions that help the business run better.
If you're curious, pragmatic, and excited to explore AI in real-world ways, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now and help us reimagine how we work.
