What's on offer?
Due to recent changes and growth in our South Australian business we are looking to appoint a new Divisional Manager - Spray Seal / Blending and Emulsion. Based in Adelaide, you will oversee our Spray Seal, Blending and Emulsion Business Units, helping us drive effective, safe and profitable outcomes. We are seeking a leader with experience and skill in managing change, developing people and who has a demonstrated ability to satisfy both internal and external customers. You will be someone with solid business acumen and will know what it takes to deliver financial and safety performance through people.
What you will be accountable for:
- Providing direction and leadership to the Blending and Emulsion and Spray Seal businesses, clearly establish roles and responsibilities and ensuring performance expectations are consistently met.
- Leading your team in the delivery of bituminous surfacing projects for public and private sector clients; ensuring exceptional customer service, while maximising operational performance, profitability and return on investment.
- Driving a safety-first approach in line with Fulton Hogan's "Living Safely" Culture
- Preparing targets and objectives for the Business Units and providing regular reporting feedback as to actual progress towards targets.
- Preparing business plans and associated annual budgets, including capital acquisition requests.
- Completing commercial and financial reviews of monthly project costs ensuring forecasted cost to complete are accurate across all projects for the month.
- Showing initiative to identify and address issues before they arise, with the aptitude and flexibility for taking on new challenges.
- Employee mentoring and development.
- Ensuring bituminous products and spray seal practices meet client's specification requirements.
What we need from you:
- Proven technical knowledge and track record of delivering profitability on various bituminous surfacing projects and programmes of work, within a safe environment.
- Experience leading a geographically dispersed business, with strong financial and commercial acumen to improve business performance in challenging markets.
- Demonstrated understanding of budgets, forecasting, subcontractor management, estimating and cost control.
- A persistence to drive positive outcomes, while fostering a culture of autonomy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, coupled with the ability to take ownership and problem solve when competing stakeholder interests.
- Proven technical knowledge on bitumen, emulsion, and its various applications.
- Proven strong commercial understanding within the construction sector.
