The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Site Safety Officer to join our Project Delivery team in Melbourne. This role full-time for a 18-month fixed term, with the potential for extension or a permanent role. If you are a motivated and experienced safety expert who enjoys the autonomy and challenge of overseeing a large, complex site then we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide WHSE advisory services, working collaboratively with the Project Delivery team and external stakeholders to influence a positive safety culture
- Assist the project team with safe management of subcontractor activities
- Assist in the continuous improvement and ongoing implementation of WHSE management system
- Undertake site inspections, conduct safety audits, attend site safety committee meetings and make recommendations for continuous improvement
- Drive safety toolbox talks and site-based safety inductions
About You - What We Are Looking For
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Diploma or above in Work Health & Safety (WHSE)
- At least 3 years experience on construction or project sites in a similar role
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with knowledge of material handling equipment highly desirable
- Strong computer skills in MS office products
- Good understanding of safe work practices for Working at Heights, Isolation of Energy, Electrical Safety, Mobile Plant, Powered Industrial trucks, Hot Works, Lifting & Rigging and PPE
- Sound working knowledge of WHSE legislation and codes of practice and experience in completing WHSE audits
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel if required
