What you'll be doing

In this role, you'll play a key part in protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our most valuable assets - our people, across construction sites nationwide. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety systems and processes and providing training and support to strengthen a proactive safety culture across the business.

  1. Conducting regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  2. Developing and delivering safety training programs to educate employees on best safety practices
  3. Maintaining comprehensive safety documentation and records to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations
  4. Investigating and reporting on any incidents or accidents, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  5. Collaborating with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of construction activities
  6. Staying up-to-date with changes in health and safety regulations and best practices within the construction industry

What we're looking for

  1. Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
  2. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of Australian health and safety legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act and relevant Regulations
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address safety concerns
  6. Proficient in the use of safety management software and data analysis tools - Safety Culture experience advantageous
