  • Two permanent full-time roles at 35 hours per week plus FlexTime

The Natural Resource Access Regulator (NRAR) enforces the NSW water laws and offers guidance and education to help water users comply. We strive to be an efficient and effective regulator that celebrates and reflects the diversity of the community we serve. Working with NRAR provides a chance to make sure water is used lawfully so that all communities and the environment get a fair share.

NRAR's Performance Analytics and Artificial Intelligence team is currently seeking to appoint a Performance Analyst to act as a vital link between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, engaging with operational staff who may have limited data expertise, facilitate clear communication, and collaborating with technical specialists to translate complex data into actionable insights that support informed decision-making.

While prior knowledge of NRAR's operations is not essential, the Performance Analyst is expected to rapidly build an understanding of the organisation's processes and data environment. Working closely with stakeholders, the role contributes to the development of output- and outcome-based KPIs, designs practical operational metrics, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Strong data skills- particularly in Excel; combined with analytical thinking are essential to apply data effectively and enhance performance and operational outcomes across NRAR.

About You

You have demonstrated experience as a Performance analyst with strong skills in process mapping and data-driven analysis, including experience working with diverse stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable solutions. You have good data analytical skills to be able to formulate written reports for non-technical stakeholders.

You have good communication skills with the ability to build and maintain trustful relationships with diverse stakeholders, guiding non-technical operational staff to provide accurate and meaningful information despite varying levels of technical understanding and navigating sensitive topics with stakeholders while maintaining positive and cooperative working relationships to support effective decision making.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in in Business, Commerce, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
