- At the heart of the New South Wales (NSW) planning system, the _**_Planning Group_**_ takes centre stage. Driven by the NSW Government’s unwavering commitment to tackle the critical housing issue, we provide essential support and strategic guidance. The _**_Planning Land Use Strategy, Housing and Infrastructure (PLUSHI)_**_ team are the driving force behind the Department's strategic planning, policy, rezoning, and infrastructure projects, all aimed at making New South Wales a better place to live._
**The role**
We are looking for a high performer to join the population insights team, within the Planning Evidence Centre. The team produces official NSW population and household projections. The** Analyst (population)** conducts data analysis to support and inform the development of the projections, and to meet the Department’s other demographic information needs. They also assist with the preparation of advice for the Secretary, Minister and the public. The role actively contributes to a high-performance team environment, provides excellent customer service and enables continual service improvement practices.

**Key knowledge and experience**
**Essential requirements**
- Tertiary qualification in one or more of the following areas: planning, statistics, mathematics,, demography, social science, geography, or other relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience with a specialisation in one of these areas
