Payroll Officer

• 12 Month Full Time Contract | CBD location | WFH Flex | $85K + S

We're looking for a detail-driven and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team on a 12-month contract. This role is all about keeping our payroll operations running smoothly while also giving the team space to focus on process improvements and new ways of working.

You'll be working closely with the payroll team to support day-to-day activities, onboard new starters, process terminations, manage the shared inbox, and deliver accurate, timely payroll services.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing end-to-end payroll processing using Chris21.
• Onboarding new starters and processing employee terminations.
• Monitoring and responding to queries in the payroll inbox.
• Ensuring compliance with awards, agreements, and legislation.
• Supporting the team during periods of leave.
• Enabling process improvements by taking on key operational tasks.

What you'll bring:

• Hands-on experience with Chris21 (essential).
• Previous payroll experience in a medium to large organisation.
• High attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
• The ability to interpret and apply awards, agreements, and legislation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills – approachable and responsive.
• A collaborative, team-focused approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
