  • Part time 2 days/ week (school hours), 10-12 hours and holiday relief

The Role

will involve:

  • Meeting & greeting patients
  • Booking & confirming appointments
  • Smooth and efficient running of clinics
  • Arranging Theatre bookings
  • Managing phones & correspondence
  • Administration and general office duties
  • Billing surgical procedures
  • Reconciling EFTPOS and Genie transactions
  • some medical typing is required

Essential Criteria

To be successful you will need to demonstrate

  • Exceptional communication skills and telephone manner
  • Excellent customer service
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation skills and the ability to multitask
  • The ability to work effectively within team environments and work independently when required
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional attitude, conduct and presentation
  • The ability to engage professionally with patients and all other stakeholders
  • High level of computer proficiency including (including Microsoft Office and Practice management software)
  • Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality in dealing with personal, patient and practice information

Desirable Criteria

You should also be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in the Healthcare sector with a Medical Secretary, Receptionist, or Medical Administration role
  • Familiarity with Medical terminology
  • Genie software experience (an advantage but transferable skills considered)
  • Medicare and Health Fund billing
