The Role and

Responsibilities

We are seeking an exploration geologist to participate in all aspects of greenfields exploration programmes for multiple commodities throughout WA. Working as part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for providing on-site geological expertise to ensure the safe and efficient execution of exploration programmes including mapping, soil sampling and drilling. The successful candidate will have a passion for geology and making new discoveries, a demonstrated commitment to safety, strong organisational and communication skills and a motivation to further develop their career.

Candidates with gold or base metal exploration experience and familiarity with AC, RC and diamond drilling techniques will be viewed positively however graduate geologists are also encouraged to apply. Knowledge of exploration and mining software such as Datamine, loGAS or QGIS will be advantageous.

Barking Outback operates on a campaign style exploration roster with time spent in the field and within our Perth office as required. This is a full-time position.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related earth science discipline.


• Previous experience with geological logging, sampling QAQC protocols and drill rig management.


• Strong commitment to safety.


• Strong understanding on the controls for base metal and gold mineralisation and experience.


• Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.


• Ability to work effectively in small teams in remote locations.


• Current C class WA driver's licence.


• Eligibility and legal right to work in Australia is required.
