About Us

Who Is Elijah is an independently owned fragrance house established in Sydney, Australia in 2018. Built on cruelty free, unisex foundations, our ephemeral and monochromatic elements symbolise our clean-cut, modernist aesthetic. We embody quintessential minimalism.

About Our Role

We need a highly organised and detail-oriented Product Development Coordinator to join our amazing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in bringing our fragrance & other product line concepts to life, from initial ideation to product launch. Working closely with cross-functional teams including perfumers, suppliers, marketing, and production, you will be responsible for managing the product development process from conception to commercialization. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Coordinate all aspects of product development projects, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Idea Generation: Collaborate with Marketing to generate innovative fragrance & other product line concepts that align with our brand vision and target market.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify opportunities for new product development and stay informed about industry developments.
  • Formula Development: Work closely with perfumers and chemists to develop and refine fragrance formulas, balancing creativity with technical feasibility and cost considerations.
  • Prototype Testing: Coordinate the production of fragrance & other product line prototypes for testing and evaluation, soliciting feedback from internal stakeholders and external focus groups.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all product formulations comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, maintaining accurate documentation throughout the development process.
  • Quality Assurance: Partner with quality control and manufacturing teams to oversee product testing and ensure that finished products meet our quality standards.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners, negotiating contracts and managing vendor performance to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective production.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to align product development initiatives with overall business objectives and timelines.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of product development activities, including project status updates, budget tracking, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports for senior management review.

About You:

  • 2+ years of experience in product development or a related role within the fragrance, cosmetics, or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of fragrance chemistry and formulation principles, with the ability to evaluate fragrance compositions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks & manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to easily collaborate.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for fragrance products (e.g., IFRA guidelines, FDA regulations) preferred.
  • Creative thinking and a strong aesthetic sensibility, with a passion for fragrance and beauty products.
