Head of Credit and Collection

Introduction:We are currently recruiting Head of Credit and Collections for a leading utilities providing organisation - you'll be managing a team of 30+ people. It's a fast paced, driven and collaborative environment, working in the Credit and Billings domain, where the colleagues are engaged, aware, friendly and value encouraging ideas.
This role is accountable for shaping and executing the credit strategy, while leading a large team and driving cross-business collaboration to deliver strong credit management, exceptional customer experiences, and operational excellence. You will report to the GM for Customer Experience.
Your responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and execution of long-term business strategies and customer experience objectives.
- Lead the design and improvement of systems, processes, and technologies that support efficient operations and service delivery.
- Establish and manage debt recovery and credit management frameworks that achieve financial targets while maintaining customer focus.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the customer journey, ensuring interactions are seamless, processes are accurate, and satisfaction levels improve.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, reporting obligations, and maintain strong business continuity planning.
- Deliver continuous improvements that generate measurable financial, operational, and service benefits.
- Provide leadership in projects and system enhancements, ensuring effective change management and subject matter expertise.
- Build collaborative relationships with senior leaders, government, and external partners to strengthen influence and reputation.
- Inspire, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth.
- Champion organisational values by promoting safety, well being, inclusion, and diversity in the workplace.
- Embed health, safety, environmental, and quality practices into day-to-day operations, ensuring proactive risk management.
- Monitor, report, and deliver against KPIs to achieve service standards, customer outcomes, and employee engagement goals.
What experience will you have:
- 10+ year's experience in a similar or related role preferred
- Experience in the Utilities/ Telecommunication/ Financial Services domain
- Relevant Accounting / Finance qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to manage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to use initiative and be proactive - lead transformation projects
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong work ethic, diligence, integrity
- Detail-oriented and meticulous
