Salt House is looking for an energetic and hands on Functions Coordinator to join our team at our iconic waterfront venue in Cairns.

About Us:

Salt House is a unique, multi-space venue designed for the tropical North Queensland lifestyle.

Our venue features:

  • A 180-seat restaurant with a wood-fired Argentinian grill
  • Private dining room for up to 20 guests
  • Standalone pizzeria

We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, incredible food, and unforgettable experiences. Salt House is also a strong supporter of live music and local talent, hosting weekly DJs and musicians.

About the role:

As Functions Coordinator, you will work closely with and assist our Functions & Events Manager and Restaurant team to ensure all functions run smoothly from the initial enquiry to final pack down.

You will also support the Functions & Events Manager with administrative tasks such as handling enquiries, bookings, preparing function sheets, coordinating entertainment, and assisting with billing and accounts.

This is a casual position with the opportunity for full time for the right candidate. Salary will be commensurate with demonstrated skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Functions & Events Manager with all aspects of functions
  • Deliver exceptional customer service before, during, and after functions
  • Assist with setup, logistics, staffing, and pack down of functions
  • Meet and greet guests, ensuring every function starts on the right foot
  • Maintain a clean and organised function space
  • Troubleshoot any issues during functions with professionalism
  • Ensure RSA and venue standards are upheld
  • Assist with client communications and post function feedback
  • Liaise with the Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef
  • Other duties as assigned

Shifts include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

About you:

You're enthusiastic, reliable, and looking to grow in a supportive team. You thrive in fast-paced environments and love being part of memorable experiences. You will be studying or qualified in Hospitality Management or related field.

You will bring:

  • A passion for hospitality and customer service
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Current RSA certification

Interested?

If you are passionate about hospitality and ready to gain hands on experience and become part of a vibrant, professional team, we would love to hear from you.

Please note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
