About the Role
The Contractor Advisor is a pivotal role within the Comensura business unit, reporting directly to the Head of Operations. This position serves as the bridge between contractors and the company, ensuring a seamless experience for both new and existing contractors throughout the employment lifecycle.
You will be responsible for everything from onboarding new hires to providing first-line advice, with a strong focus on compliance, engagement, safety and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Compliance Coordination
- Contact candidates to outline the Comensura onboarding process and compliance requirements.
- Use digital platforms to efficiently onboard contractors, ensuring all files are complete and compliant before activation and rostering.
- Maintain awareness of client compliance requirements and liaise with third-party providers for external checks.
- Ensure payroll has all required documentation before the first shift and all legislative requirements are met.
Contractor Management Coordination
- Act as the primary contact for contractors, providing feedback to internal stakeholders on performance and issues.
- Collaborate with the Finance Team to resolve payroll and invoicing queries.
- Manage contract end dates, extensions and offboarding processes.
- Act as the initial contact for injury management and workplace health & safety (WHS) matters.
Contractor Management Advisory
- Provide first-level advice on Awards, industrial instruments, National Employment Standards (NES) and internal policies.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate stakeholders when required.
Workplace Health, Safety & Environment
- Promote and maintain an injury-free, healthy workplace that minimises environmental impact.
- Actively participate in and complete all compulsory compliance training.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
- General knowledge of the National Employment Standards.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships.
- Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work both autonomously and in a team.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience with HR systems.
Desired
- High School Certificate or equivalent; HR/Industrial Relations studies highly regarded.
- Experience interpreting Modern Awards or providing Employee Relations advice.
- Understanding of contractor workforce management.
