Your role

Homes NSW is a division of the Department of Communities and Justice. It brings together the housing and homelessness functions of the Department of Communities and Justice, the NSW Land and Housing Corporation, Aboriginal Housing Office and key worker housing functions from across government all under one roof.

Homes NSW leads work to deliver more social and affordable housing, end the cycle of homelessness, and deliver quality public housing to our 262,000 tenants across NSW.

The Senior Service Officer provides a broad range of administrative services and leverages extensive business unit knowledge to support the unit's program of work and facilitate the delivery of business operations.

What you'll do

This is a hands-on role where you will manage a team of four, ensuring that the allocation of work is effective and timely and that attention to detail is of the highest standard in the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Respond to and resolve complex enquiries and issues to ensure the provision of accurate information, and the timely and effective resolution of issues
  • Coordinate and manage records and databases, complying with administrative systems, processes and policies, to ensure that all information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible
  • Develop, implement and monitor office systems, procedures and methods, adapting processes and techniques as required, to facilitate efficient team/unit operations in line with agency standards, policies and procedures
  • Gather and collate information for, and prepare documentation and reports on business unit performance, as well as make recommendations to improve efficiency, cost management and service delivery

What we are looking for

  • Sound experience in a similar role where you can demonstrate the importance of accuracy in technology and process whilst maintaining high levels of customer service
  • Experience leading a team and allocating work and managed escalations in a timely manner
  • Be system savvy and comfortable using records management and financial systems and databases in a high volume and compliant environment
