Description:
**Role Title: Finance Officer**
**Pay rate: $303.97 - 332.84 per day plus super**
**Duration: 28th of July to 31st of January**
**Location: Parramatta**

**Primary purpose of this role**:
This role is responsible for the investment administration as part of the Financial Performance and Investment team. The Financial Performance and Investments division provides a full range of financial services including budgeting, procurement, customer accounts and investment management services.

**As Finance Officer you will**:

- Support the Managers and Senior Finance Officers in completion of financial transactions and reporting in a professional and timely manner, including enforcing internal controls, following up outstanding items and escalating complex issues.
- Answer queries, collect feedback and provide advice to business partners, internal and external
- stakeholders on Financial Performance and Investment matters and services.
- Prepare and update finance documentation, including finance processes and procedures for the Senior Finance Officer’s review & oversight.
- Undertake and complete financial reporting requirements as required, for NSWTG.
- Handle day-to-day duties, including regular processing as well as customer service requests within a Finance team. This covers but is not limited to the following outcomes:

- Electronic and manual processing and recording of journals, expenses and revenues is accurate, timely and compliant with legislative and departmental requirements
- Reconciliation of various bank and general ledger accounts such as accruals, prepayments, clearing accounts and ensuring other current asset and liability accounts are up to date and support the accuracy of the Department’s financial records
- Supplier invoices are paid on time
- Debt is collected when due
- System master data is up to date, accurate and compliant with legislative and departmental
- requirements
- Reporting is timely, meaningful, and accurate
- All receipts and payments are appropriately allocated and reconciled
- Internal and external stakeholders are well informed of Finance processes and comply with
- requirements
- Service levels are supported and adhered to.
- Actively participate and contribute to continuous improvement programs as required.
- Participate in the collation of Departmental financial information including statutory accounts, tax returns or ad hoc reports.** Key Knowledge and experience**
- Previous financial experience
- Experience in the end-to-end cycle of funds management including unit pricing, unit registry, trade processing, cash reconciliation etc.
- Experience in managed funds settlement and banking operations
- Working knowledge of financial instruments
- Ability to work in an environment with tight daily deadlines that requires strong attention to deadline and a high level of accuracy
