- We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead the NSW Reconstruction Authority.
- Lead the strategic and operational aspects to deliver on their purpose
- This is an ongoing Public Service Senior Executive Band 3 role, based in the Sydney CBD/Parramatta.
As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Reconstruction Authority you will lead an executive team to ensure the Authority's functions are in alignment with the requirements of the Act. This role is responsible for ensuring the protection, preparedness and recovery of communities affected by disasters.
You will be responsible for representing the Authority in consultations and negotiations with key external stakeholders to optimise outcomes for the Authority and the NSW Government. The CEO role is expected to build and maintain cooperative relationships with multiple stakeholders across industry, community and government to drive the development of strategies for disaster prevention, preparedness, recovery, reconstruction and adaptation efforts.
This is a high-profile role which will see you providing timely, strategic, expert and authoritative advice to the Premier and Ministers to enable informed evidence-based recommendations and decisions. You will be responsible for prudent and efficient financial management of disaster funds, working with councils, State agencies, community organisations and the Commonwealth Government.

Essential requirements for this role
- Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated experience at an executive level.

- Communicate Effectively: Can demonstrate exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Influence and Negotiate: You can demonstrate your proven ability to provide influential leadership to ensure effective cross-government organisational responses to emergency or other large scale, highly complex situations.
