About the role
Central Cleaning Supplies is seeking a dynamic and experienced Compliance Manager to champion our commitment to excellence across risk management, quality assurance, environmental sustainability, and workplace health & safety. This is a pivotal leadership role that ensures our operations align with national and international standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Purpose of the Role
The Compliance Manager at Central Cleaning Supplies is responsible for ensuring the business operates in full alignment with national and international standards for quality, environmental sustainability, occupational health and safety, and corporate risk. This role leads the development and execution of compliance frameworks, risk assessments, and safety initiatives across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Perform and document risk assessments for products, operations, and business processes
- Lead the Risk Management Committee, driving proactive risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Maintain and regularly update the risk register and ensure alignment with business objectives
Quality Assurance
- Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality Management System)
- Conduct internal audits, manage corrective actions, and promote continuous improvement
- Collaborate with procurement and operations to uphold product and supplier quality standards
Environmental Compliance
- Maintain compliance with ISO Environmental Management System)
- Oversee emissions reporting and ensure adherence to environmental regulations
- Champion sustainability initiatives and monitor environmental performance
Workplace Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with ISO Occupational Health & Safety Management System)
- Chair the Health & Safety Representative (HSR) Committee, fostering a culture of safety
- Lead incident investigations, hazard identification, and WHS training programs
Governance & Reporting
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory bodies and certification authorities
- Manage documentation to support audits, certifications, and legal obligations
- Advise senior leadership on compliance trends, risks, and strategic improvements
- Preparation of required policies and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Environmental Science, or WHS
- Demonstrated experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 systems
- Strong understanding of emissions reporting and environmental compliance
- Proven leadership in committee management and cross-functional collaboration
Desirable
- Experience in the cleaning supplies, distribution, or manufacturing sector
- Certification in Lead Auditing for ISO standards
- Familiarity with Australian WHS legislation and EPA regulations
