ABOUT THE POSITION:

Operations and House Manager plays an important role in leading and managing disability accommodations and associated disability services. The position will give direct oversight for the provision of services and will also focusses on staffing, team building and professional development of our workforce.

The role manages the delivery of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and oversees compliance of the service plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Delivery

  • Coach and mentor House Staff to problem-solve and make decisions in the best interests of their residents and team.

  • Coordinate the management of residential vacancies.

  • Oversee the Accommodation response to major incidents and personal crisis of residents as required and coordinate the delivery of additional supports as required.

  • Prepare NDIS and other regulatory authority reports for Accommodation Services.

  • Intake Administration

  • Provide and Send Cost Estimates, Service Agreements and Schedule of Supports to the Customer Experience Team for approval.

  • Liaise with Participants and their families and nominees to obtain consent and signatures for NDIS Service Agreements and Schedule of Supports.

  • Seek and report on Customer feedback. Support the resolution of Customer complaints and questions as escalated from the House Supervisors/Team Leaders.

  • Finance and Business Development

  • Understand the NDIS funding framework including the role of Support Coordination and funding of Individual Plans. Prepare, monitor and review SIL quoting. Review and design portfolio SIL rosters in line with SIL quote, ensuring

consideration of safe rostering and industrial relations principles.

  • Employee Experience

  • Supervise the performance of House Supervisors / Team Leaders, coaching, mentoring and supervising direct reports to enable them to deliver set goals and KPIs.

  • Conducting recruitment, selection and induction of new casual and permanent Disability Support Workers in the SIL program and ensuring they are adequately trained and qualified to perform disability support work.

  • Identify learning and development needs and opportunities for staff to ensure residents individual requirements are met and professional career growth.

  • Approve employee timesheets for payroll.

Essential criteria:

  • Knowledge and experience of the disability sector including NDIS funding, SIL quotes, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework.
  • Knowledge and experience working in NDIS and the Disability and Community setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team - essential
  • NSW WWCC, police check, First Aid certificate, CPR or a willingness to obtain.
  • A current driver's licence.

Desirable criteria:

  • Well-developed leadership skills with the capacity to build positive teams.
  • Experience in the co-ordination & management of a SIL services for vulnerable people.
  • Compassionate and well developed communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage crises & critical issues and deal with complex & challenging situations.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office programs
  • Certificate IV/Diploma in Disability or Advanced Certificate in Residential and Community Services
