ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a strategic and experienced leader to step into the Integrity Manager position whose work directly impacts the integrity of the AFL, AFLW, VFL, VFLW and Coates Talent League competitions. The role leads the investigative arm of the Integrity Unit, alongside four permanent team members to investigate the various integrity matters across our Australian Rules contingencies. Alongside the wider integrity team, the role facilitates the effective compliance of the AFL Rules, Policies and Regulations through the proactive intervention of integrity matters that impact all AFL managed competitions.
This is a great role for a senior investigator with 10 years' experience preferably with a background in sports integrity including an in-depth knowledge of safeguarding children legislation nationally and experience in investigating matters of vilification highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing an investigative team in complex, difficult, highly public and often scrutinized integrity matters.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge regarding current legislative and investigative processes, practices and techniques including the conduct of suspect and witness interviews.
- Demonstrated experience in victim management and a significant understanding of wellbeing support services.
- Able to deliver high quality reports and Briefs of Evidence in a timely manner.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record in building relationships and working collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated record of integrity and appropriate handling of confidential information.
- Very high-level computer skills in (word, excel and case management systems).
- Available to work across weekends, after hours and in a flexible manner in an agile environment.
On any day you may be:
- Managing the implementation of strategies and policies to maintain an intelligence led integrity and investigation service to all AFL competitions.
- Conducting complex investigations across a range of subject matters relating to the integrity of AFL competitions including conducting victim, witness and suspect interviews and forming recommendations to the Head of Integrity and Security.
- Assessing complaints and providing sound advice back to states, leagues and community clubs regarding integrity matters and recommended processes.
- Developing and implementing investigation plans and policies to achieve investigation objectives.
- Fostering relationships with AFL Clubs through their respective Integrity Committees and Integrity representatives.
- Leading and managing relationships with all Australian Football State Leagues to provide strategic advice, guidance and direction where required for Integrity related matters.
- Overseeing the preparation of investigation reports or briefs of evidence for tribunal hearings or decisions of the General Counsel.
- Supervising case management for the department by planning and deploying internal and external resources.
- Managing the conduct of audits relating to compliance of AFL Clubs pursuant to the AFL Rules, the AFL Anti-Doping Code and Match Day Restricted Areas for the AFL competitions.
