Expression of Interest – Early Childhood Teacher (3-Year-Old Kindergarten Program)

Ascot Kindergarten – Commencing January 2026

12-month position with view to ongoing employment in 2027

Ascot Kindergarten Committee of Management is inviting Expressions of Interest for the role of Early Childhood Teacher to lead our vibrant 3 year old 'Pearl' group in 2026. This position is paid in accordance with VECTEA and offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected community kindergarten.

About the Role

The Pearl group runs every Friday and caters for up to 30 children. The Early Childhood Teacher will be supported in the room by up to 3 Early Childhood Educators and will work closely with the broader team to deliver a high quality, play based learning program.

Hours:

  • 11.25 hours per week
  • 7.5 hours contact time
  • 3.75 hours non-contact time
  • Planning time flexible

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong and positive leadership within the 3 year old program.
  • Work collaboratively, professionally, and flexibly as part of a small team.
  • Engage respectfully with children, families, colleagues, and the wider community.
  • Role model best practice for educators within the kindergarten setting.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate a high-quality educational program aligned with the Early Years Learning and Development Framework.

  • Ensure knowledge of and compliance with:

  • Child safe standards of Victoria

  • Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
  • National Quality Standard
  • Ascot Kindergarten Policies and Procedures

About You

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and professional teacher who:

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Brings a strong work ethic, initiative, and a commitment to high-quality early childhood education.
  • Has a sound understanding of the EYLF, VEYLDF, National Quality Framework, and regulatory requirements.
  • Values teamwork, collaboration, and positive relationships with families and children.
  • Knowledge and prior use of Storypark is not required but would be beneficial.

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Early Childhood and Education (or equivalent)

Solid knowledge of the Child Safe Standards of Victoria. Current WWC, first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma training qualifications.
