Progress Kindergarten is a well-respected, community managed service in Ascot Vale which has been operating for over 70 years. The educational team work in partnership with families and the committee of management to ensure an engaging and high quality program. Our small, passionate team value a collaborative approach and are committed to creating positive and inclusive learning environments. Educators work closely with families to ensure that each child's unique needs are met and that they are given the best possible start in their educational journey.

About The Role - A part time position teaching a 4 year-old kindergarten group commencing in January Additional hours to work collaboratively with the Director and Educational Leader to reflect on policy and practice and contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan - Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a play-based program that fosters the development of curiosity and a love of learning - Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that aligns with the service philosophy and values, and is aligned with the National Quality Framework - Work collaboratively with the team to foster children's development through purposeful, intentional teaching practices - Collaborate with other kindergarten educators to create a cohesive and supportive learning community - Act as an additional Nominated Supervisor for the service About You - Excellent understanding of early childhood development, pedagogy and regulatory requirements - Proven experience in early childhood education - Committed to continuous learning, critical reflection and ongoing quality improvement - Commitment to working collaboratively with team members to build high quality programs and a high-quality service - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build warm, positive relationships with children, families and team members - Excellent time management and organisational skills - Patience, flexibility and passion for making a meaningful contribution - The knowledge and understanding to act as an additional Nominated Supervisor

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education and VIT registration - Training in First Aid including Anaphylaxis and Asthma - A comprehensive knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and current Child Safety Training
