About the role

We are seeking an experienced Hoist Operator to join our team at Bert Farina Constructions. You'll be responsible for safely operating and maintaining the personnel and material hoist on a busy site, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of workers and materials.

What you'll be doing

  • Transport workers and materials safely and efficiently
  • Carry out pre-start checks and basic maintenance of the hoist
  • Follow directions from the site manager
  • Keep the hoist area safe, clean, and organised
  • Communicate with site workers and management to coordinate hoist operations and manage any issues or concerns
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or incidents to the appropriate personnel
  • General labouring when not operating (site clean-up, moving materials, assisting trades)

What we're looking for

  • A current licence to Operate a Personnel and Materials Hoist (mandatory)
  • Experience as a Hoist Operator in the construction industry
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain hoist equipment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to work effectively with site personnel
  • A commitment to safety and a demonstrated understanding of relevant safety regulations
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team
  • A valid driver's licence
