Byron Bay New South Wales, Australia Loco Love Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

About Us:

Loco Love is artisan chocolate magic.

Launched in 2013, Loco Love's reputation in producing conscious chocolates that resonate with both the palate and soul has paved the way for its unprecedented popularity. We've been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Gourmet Traveller and most recently we were selected as one of the AFR's Fast 100 - in the top 100 fastest growing companies in the Australia market.

The quality of ingredients we use are vital to the alchemy of our high-vibe products. We only use the finest organic, plant-based and whole food ingredients. Our sorcery is in the unique blend of superfoods, tonic herbs, probiotics and healing spices; chocolate with benefits.

We hold deep reverence for nature and operate with gratitude for the beauty that surrounds us. When sourcing our ingredients, we prioritise socially responsible suppliers that care about quality and craft, pay their farmers fairly, respect the earth and can provide traceable supply chains.

You will never find refined sugars, palm oil, artificial sweeteners, GMO's, emulsifiers, dairy or gluten in our products.

The Role

Loco Love is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to work alongside the CEO and Commercial Director in driving the sustainable growth of the business. This is a full-time, on-site role based at our headquarters in Byron Bay.

The Finance Manager will work closely with the CEO and Commercial Director to drive sustainable growth of the business.  The role is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, controls, and compliance, while also providing forward-looking analysis, budgeting, and commercial insights to support strategic decision-making.  It will also partner with leaders from across key departments to drive disciplined financial decisions, oversee core financial processes, and continuously seek opportunities for improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a values-led business that is scaling rapidly and defining the 'everyday luxury' chocolate category - while staying grounded in purpose, quality, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO and Commercial Director to drive financial strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Produce and present management reports with variance analysis and strategic insights.
  • Conduct financial modelling to support growth initiatives, investment opportunities, and capital planning.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes with timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax obligations, and internal controls.
  • Liaise with external auditors and advisors; prepare BAS and statutory accounts.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Maintain and refine financial models and forecasts.
  • Lead annual planning processes and budgeting cycles.
  • Provide actionable commercial analysis across departments (e.g. pricing, margins, ROI).

Accounting & Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and asset management.
  • Implement and monitor strong financial controls and risk management frameworks.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.

Systems & Data Integrity

  • Own financial systems and reporting infrastructure (Xero, Dear Inventory, Shopify).
  • Ensure data accuracy and systems integration as the business scales.
  • Lead IT and systems upgrades where relevant to support financial performance.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor the Administration & HR Officer.
  • Build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing finance function.
  • Contribute actively as a member of the leadership team.

What You Bring

  • CPA or CA qualification
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance leadership role, ideally within FMCG or a high-growth product business
  • Proven expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and business partnering
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen
  • Hands-on, pragmatic mindset - equally comfortable in strategy and execution
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear insights
  • Experience working with senior business leaders and boards
  • Familiarity with financial systems including Xero, Dear Inventory and Shopify (preferred)

Why Work With Us

  • Join a passionate, values-led team in one of the most beautiful places in the world - Byron Bay.
  • Help shape the future of a fast-growing Australian company with global potential.
