A key member of the Commercial Finance Team, the Student Finance Coordinator will assist in the day-to-day operations, providing administrative support and financial analysis.

A permanent full-time position located in beautiful Byron Bay or remotely under agreement, this position will involve working with a small team of professionals with focus on managing the student debt and debtor process, providing high level customer service to internal and external stakeholders, assist with regulatory reconciliations, and provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

**Key accountabilities and responsibilities include**:
Collections:

- Liaise with students regarding fees, follow up and collection of all outstanding debts for our Australian and New Zealand operations.
- To be point of contact and provide advice to students and staff on financial advice and support.
- Issue, maintain and follow up agreed payment plans and agreements with students.
- Liaise with students regarding accommodation payment plans and follow up on overdue payments.
- Maintain direct debit agreements.
- Coordination of debt collection agency referrals and relationships.

Revenue & Loans:

- Support Finance Shared Services (FSS) with day-to-day queries such as receipt queries and sponsor/funding allocation.
- Maintain scholarship agreements for entry and processing.
- Process Overseas Health Cover invoices/credit notes and assist with purchasing of policies as required.
- Coordinate invoicing of tuition and accommodation fees.
- Assist with the administration of FEE-HELP and VSL regulatory submissions and reconciliations.
- Preparation of all other reporting as directed by the Commercial Finance Director.

Compliance:

- Assist the Directorate of Academic and Student Services with the reconciliation of data for regulatory reports / submissions.
- Production of Commonwealth Assistance Notices
- Assist with the reconciliation of government HELP, HECS, Fees Free loans, grants, and other funding, ensuring accurate data and regulatory reports/ submissions.
- Assist with internal and external annual and bi-annual financial audits as directed by the Commercial Finance Director.

Analysis and Reporting:

- Assist in the preparation of Management Reporting and financial analysis as directed to assist the interpretation of financial results.
- Liaise with the SAE Marketing team to reconcile monthly expenditure against budget.
- Assist the Commercial Finance Team with the reconciliation of data for regulatory reports and submissions.

**The person we seek will ideally have the following**:

- Degree qualification with 2+ years’ experience in student accounts receivable.
- Experience in providing financial services across a geographically dispersed client base to a range of business units from a centralised functional unit, preferably within a large organisation;
- Knowledge of Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) businesses and operations
- Detailed understanding of Australian legislation and statutory reporting requirements for financial management;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience in financial accounting systems;
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to continually deliver quality outputs in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
