The Company

Vital Design Solutions (Vital) is a young and dynamic Canberra based company which operates in the expanding engineering and construction industries. Vital specialises in the Building Services sector of Hydraulic and Civil Design with a strong focus on producing high quality, accurate documentation for our clients.

The Role

As a Hydraulic Designer or Hydraulic Engineer you will be responsible for working closely with senior designers and engineers to complete documentation and reporting. You will consult with clients, industry professionals and the relevant authorities when necessary. You will be required to complete high quality work within the specified time frame, using your previous experience and willingness to learn.

You will be required to design elements within the Hydraulics discipline with minimal guidance. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Water Services (cold, heated, reclaimed, recycled and specialty water systems)
  • Drainage Services (sanitary, stormwater, subsurface and trade waste)
  • Gas Services (natural gas and liquified petroleum gas)
  • Waste Water Management (black and grey water harvesting and tradewaste treatment)
  • Stormwater Management (retention systems, detention systems and treatment facilities)

Minimum Requirements

  • At least three years prior experience working as a Hydraulic Services Drafter, Designer or Engineer in Australia.
  • Engineering candidates must have an engineering degree.
  • Proficient in 2D AutoCAD.
  • An understanding of hydraulic systems including storm water, sewer, sanitary plumbing, and water reticulation.
  • Knowledge of Revit highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of ACT standards desirable.
  • Only candidates with full working rights in Australia will be considered at this time.

To be negotiated depending on experience.
