Senior Project Manager – Capital Works
to lead complex, high-value projects and embed best practice across our portfolio.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, technical challenge, and meaningful impact.

About the Role
Reporting to the
Head of Capital Works
, you'll lead the delivery of multiple capital works projects from initiation through to completion and handover. Projects typically range in value from
$500k to $2M
and span diverse, operationally sensitive environments, requiring technical expertise, stakeholder influence, and strong governance.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Manage the full project lifecycle
    – from feasibility and business case development through to procurement, delivery, commissioning, and handover.
  • Oversee multiple, complex capital works
    simultaneously, ensuring cost, program, scope, quality, and safety objectives are achieved.
  • Secure statutory approvals
    and ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and organisational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships
    with senior stakeholders across Uniting, including Asset Management, Portfolio Planning, Service and Village Managers, and Executives.
  • Embed best practice project management processes
    and provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced project team members.
  • Manage project risk and reporting
    – ensuring accurate forecasting, financial control, and transparent communication to leadership.
  • Drive quality and compliance
    by preparing, reviewing, and maintaining robust project documentation.
  • Coordinate commissioning and handover
    in collaboration with Service Managers and Asset Management.
  • Champion safety and sustainability outcomes
    across all project phases.

About You
You are a seasoned Project Manager who thrives in complex environments and brings strong commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement skills, and technical expertise. You'll have the confidence to influence and deliver at scale, combined with the ability to coach and uplift others around you.

You'll report directly to the
Head of Capital Works
. This role does not have direct reports but requires the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

  • Degree qualified in
    Construction, Engineering, Property or Project Management
    .
  • 8+ years' project management experience
    , with at least 5 years in a senior role delivering multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in the construction and project management sector.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, building codes, and WHS regulations.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly organised, systematic, and disciplined with strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Experience in leading teams or specialist consultants in a project environment.

Highly Regarded:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Construction or Project Management.
  • Experience in
    aged care, health, hospitality, retail, or aviation site project delivery
    .
  • Experience in capital asset replacement projects or early learning/community services project delivery.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Dynamics 365.
