Job DescriptionAbout the role
The Design Lead will be responsible for leading design strategy and execution within SEEK's Connect domain, focusing on post-application hirer workflows that streamline candidate selection processes and drive hiring automation through AI-enabled solutions. This position reports to the Senior Head of Design for Connect and leads a design team whose members work within cross-functional delivery teams across hirer automation, adjacencies space, and outsourced talent acquisition.
Responsibilities
- Lead design strategy for hiring automation products, ensuring AI-enabled solutions integrate seamlessly with existing hirer workflows
- Oversee design decisions across AI hirer tools, Sidekicker contingent labour platform, SmartHire outsourced recruitment services and business information markets
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate AI capabilities into strategic design initiatives that drive measurable efficiency gains
- Coach and develop designers, fostering expertise in human-AI interaction design patterns
- Partner with Product, Technology and Strategy Leadership to define OKRs and roadmap priorities across multiple verticals
- Champion design system adoption and establish AI interaction patterns for Connect products
- Work with UX Research to establish success metrics for Hirer Automation experiences and AI feature adoption
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between design, product, engineering, AI teams and business strategy teams
- Drive consistent design standards across diverse product offerings while allowing for specialised interaction patterns
- Contribute to design leadership forums and advocate for design needs across the broader SEEK ecosystem
Skills and experience
- Design leadership experience managing and developing other designers in a cross-functional environment
- Proven experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into business strategy and product roadmaps with a design lens
- Experience designing for B2B marketplace or talent acquisition platforms, particularly in post-application workflows
- Track record of working with cross-functional teams to deliver complex product solutions spanning multiple business verticals
- Understanding of contingent labour, outsourced recruitment, or alternative staffing models and their unique design challenges
- Demonstrated ability to influence business outcomes through design strategy and stakeholder engagement
- Experience with design systems and establishing interaction patterns for emerging technologies like AI
- Background in agile product development environments with experience coaching teams through ambiguous problem spaces
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with Product, Technology, and AI teams
- Strategic thinking ability to translate complex AI capabilities into user-centered design solutions
