Job DescriptionAbout the role
The Principal Product Designer will be a highly accomplished individual contributor delivering impactful design outcomes for AI-enabled experiences that enhance hirer efficiency through intelligent automation and AI-driven insights. This role sits within the Connect team focusing on hirer automation and works closely with cross-functional teams including technology and product management partners, with thought leadership responsibilities across the broader Design organisation.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype AI-enabled features that streamline hirer workflows across multiple marketplace touchpoints
- Create innovative interaction patterns for human-AI collaboration, ensuring AI recommendations are contextually relevant and actionable
- Develop rapid prototypes to test feature concepts with hiring teams, validating usability and business impact in fluid environments
- Establish design principles for AI transparency, explainability, and trust-building in hiring contexts
- Optimise end-to-end hirer journeys, identifying key intervention points where AI can reduce cognitive load and improve decision quality
- Work on complex projects including research, analysis, trend analysis and innovative AI-powered proofs of concepts
- Drive improvements to design system, tooling and ways of working with the design system team
- Build prototypes and communication pieces that articulate design outcomes with strong storytelling skills
- Share output regularly with broad audiences to drive alignment across teams and senior leadership on hirer experience improvements
Skills and experience
- Portfolio demonstrating AI/ML-enabled product design experience including prompt design capabilities
- Proven experience designing human-AI interaction patterns and interfaces for complex user workflows
- Track record working in cross-functional teams with data scientists, ML engineers, and product managers to shape feasible AI experiences
- Experience with rapid prototyping tools and methodologies for testing AI concepts with users in iterative environments
- Background in UX research methodologies, particularly for validating feature usability and business impact metrics
- Knowledge of AI/ML principles including transparency, explainability, algorithmic bias considerations and error recovery strategies
- Experience working within design systems and contributing to interaction pattern libraries for scalable solutions
- Experience in B2B or marketplace products, particularly in hiring, recruitment, or talent acquisition domains
- Understanding of fairness, bias, transparency, and privacy considerations when designing AI-driven user experiences
- Ability to design for complex systems where AI, data, and user interaction create integrated feedback loops
